The Beatles in Minnesota, The Bob Bonis Archives

Original Photos from The Beatles August 21, 1965 Concert at Metropolitan Stadium. On August 21st, 1965 the Beatles performed their only concert in Minnesota at the old Met Stadium in Bloomington. Because of security concerns, Bob Bonis, their tour manager, was the only photographer permitted on the field. He was an avid photographer and took slightly more than a roll of photos using his trusted Leica M3 camera as he watched the concert from the sidelines. The Beatles played in Minnesota only one time, so they hold a special place in the hearts of Minnesotans and until now no close-up of the photographs existed. The stadium was subsequently demolished to make way for the construction of the Mall of America. In the final design of the Mall, a portion of the original stage was preserved to pay homage to The Beatles’ one and only Minnesota performance. Strictly limited edition prints are available for purchase.
